Our Client is the largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer in North America and a leading producer of medium-duty trucks and specialized commercial vehicles. They are located in North Portland, Oregon (Swan Island). This company is in need of a temporary Full-Time (Monday - Friday) Parts Inventory Planner for approximately 1- 1 years.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Develop practices to improve departmental operations and efficiencies. Generate data and reports required to implement and sustain departmental operations and objectives.
Train, mentor, coach junior employees to ensure department staff has the skills, knowledge, and information to attain both personal and company objectives.
Plan commodities, goods and services and develop and guide supplier relationships in a globally based supply chain.
Negotiate or renew supplier agreements for commodities, goods and services, EDI communications, supplier rating.
Negotiate the most effective long-term program for Freightliner - including supplier commitments for product and manufacturing commitments to support Freightliner production, including tool capacities, identify supplier constraints and work with supplier to meet manufacturing demands.
Evaluate supplier performance issues and determine if the supplier qualifies for the SAT process. Review, monitor and approve corrective action plans as presented by the suppliers.
Provide support to all Manufacturing Plants for supplier related issues.
Participate in multi-functional product teams to develop and evaluate long term proposals.
Create and implement improved material management processes, and the reports necessary to support the process and present to management as required.
Utilize/create tools both cross corporation and globally to determine future requirements and provide forecast data to suppliers.
Interface with suppliers and Freightliner engineering, changeover, and manufacturing engineering to insure the timely and accurate communications of specifications.
Utilize all available tools to determine future requirements and provide forecast data for component suppliers. Tools to include, but not limited to, CAE reports, Freightliner op plans, new truck reports and, ODA tools.
Advise and instruct component suppliers for Freightliner's on time delivery expectations. Insure Freightliner and suppliers have complete plans and strategies in place to achieve on time delivery.
This is a contingent/temporary position in North (Swan Island) Portland, OR and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions which is located in Portland, OR. Proven analytical and problem solving skills required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
Good written and oral communication skills required.
Experience in a manufacturing company preferred.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
