Work Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional weekend, early morning or early evening as an intermittent with variable shifts.

Citizenship Must pass pre-employment examination English Language Proficiency required Designated and-or Random Drug Testing required Background and-or Security Investigation required The Clinical Dietitian is the medical nutrition expert responsible for independently planning, developing and directing all nutritional care activities for assigned clients, including those with complex medical and nutritional needs. He/she supports the facility's mission and coordinates nutritional care with other health care providers, the client, the client's family and the community. The increasingly complex nature of the nutrition care process requires that the clinical dietitian have expertise in a wide range of disease entities, behavior-change strategies, nutrition-specific diagnostics, treatment modalities, nutrition-specific treatment modalities. Nutrition care is provided primarily in acute care and ambulatory care settings.
Note: The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-11 . The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is in the range of GS-7 to GS-11 . The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate's education and experience and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed. BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
a. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified candidates in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part.)
b. Education. The individual must have earned a minimum of a bachelor''s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, and fulfilled each of the following criteria:
1. Completed a didactic program in dietetic accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE).
2. Completed a CADE accredited supervised practice program.
3. Passed a national examination administrated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing branch of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
c. Registration
1. All applicants must be registered with the CDR.
2. Non-registered applicants who otherwise meet the minimum requirements in the basic qualification standard may be appointed as a graduate dietitian under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 7450 (a)(1)(D). Failure to obtain CDR registration during that period is justification for termination of the temporary appointment. This may be result in termination of employment.
Grandfathering Provision There is a standard grandfathering policy for all the Title 38 hybrid qualification standards. Some of these provisions may not apply to this occupation. Please carefully review the qualification standard to determine the specific education and/or licensure/certification/registration requirements that apply to this occupation.
English Language Proficiency. Dietitians must be proficient in spoken and written English.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS : In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates:
GS-7
Experience: None beyond the basic requirements. Assignments. Employees at this grade are closely supervised and competency with progressively complex tasks is monitored by supervisor. Employees at this grade level serve in a career development position.
GS-9
Experience: Experience or Education. At least 1 year of experience at the next lower level that demonstrates the core competencies described at that level, or education equivalent to 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited university or college in the field of dietetics or closely related field.
Assignments. Employees at this grade level serve in either staff clinical or food service systems management dietitian positions. It is expected that they receive guidance from higher-level or supervisory staff members. Supervision is close for developmental assignments and more general in nature for assignments in which the individual has demonstrated competency.
GS-11
Experience:
Experience or Education. At least 1 year of experience at the next lower level that demonstrates the core competencies described at that level, or education equivalent to 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited university or college in the field of dietetics or closely related field. Assignments. Employees at this grade level serve as staff dietitians at the full performance level, and may or may not be in a food service systems management supervisory position.
As a registered dietitian demonstrated the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics necessary to satisfactory complete the following duties:
1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical dietetics and medical nutrition therapy for patients with multiple co-morbidites, and complex medical needs. Develop nutrition therapy interventions, interdisciplinary care plans, and nutrition education activities.
2. Ability to plan and organize work consisting of multiple tasks and priorities of considerable difficulty and responsibility; and ability to act as mentor/consultant for other health care professionals.
3. Ability to provide nutrition counseling and coaching to patients, family members and/or care givers considering pychosocial issues and ages appropriate guidelines.
4. Basic knowledge of computer operations: software, hardware terminology, security requirements, and capabilities.
5. Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral techniques at varying levels of understanding (lay to professional.)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
