Student Position, 10-20 hr/week; Salary: $13.00/hr; Location: Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
This position supports epidemiological research at the Pacific Northwest Evidence-based Practice Center ( ). Duties include: import and duplicate text files of electronic database search results; manage EndNote libraries, including coding of citations; locate and photocopy journal articles in OHSU libraries; retrieve electronic copies of journal articles from the Internet; alphabetize journal articles; process interlibrary loan request forms; format report bibliographies; format report contents, such as in-text tables and figures; track report processes, such as preparing Excel spreadsheets of included studies and our progress with data abstraction, etc.; assist in preparation of team meeting materials; possibility of assisting with data abstraction; other related tasks as needed. This is a great opportunity to learn more about health research, especially systematic reviews.
Job Requirements
Requirements include current enrollment as an undergraduate student taking either 6 credit hours or more; or 4.5 credit hours or more graduate level courses; good computer skills including Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Excel; attention to detail; good communication skills; ability to follow through; ability to work well with team members; and ability to provide organizational assistance in all aspects of the work. Preferred qualifications include a background in biological sciences; a keen interest in medicine and public health; experience with EndNote, and prior experience with systematic review research.
