Functions/Duties of Position
The Study Coordinator is responsible for the management of clinical trials. Primary duties include ensuring regulatory compliance by acting as a liaison between the PI, IRB, and sponsoring entity; providing information regarding eligibility criteria and study schedule to potential patients and referring physicians; scheduling of patient visits, extracting clinical research data from patient charts, reporting adverse events and management of workload of others in the work group. Study Coordinators also attend study initiation meetings, coordinate monitoring visits and communicate specific study requirements to the research team.
Job Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's Degree with major courses in field of research and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Some clinical trial knowledge with a minimum of 1 year research experience.
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people and groups.
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time; high level of organization and prioritizing skills.
Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in identifying and resolving problems.
Proficient with computer software running Windows and PC applications (e.g. MS Excel, Oracle, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person.
Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred:
Five years' progressively responsible clinical trials management experience.
Working knowledge of, EPIC and Oracle.
Ability to generate a variety of reports in MS word and excel.
Clinical research certification (SoCRA or ACRP).
