Acumen has partnered with a local Breast Cancer organization to hire an Events Coordinator. The Events Coordinator is contract position for 1 year, and will work independently, coordinating three large fundraising events over the year. If goals are reached, funding will be possible for a direct hire position after the initial year (First year is funded by a grant).

Our client is looking to add someone who can be responsible for managing three major events and achieve special event fundraising goals through the overall planning, coordination, administration and execution throughout the year. They received a one-year grant for this position. They are looking for a person to own the events and come up with new and exciting ideas. This person will work with the co-founders, staff, and volunteers, but with minimum supervision or direction to complete related projects. The ideal candidate will be a creative, self-motivated professional with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, and a strong attention to details.

In the Events Coordinator positon, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing all aspects of event data entry and conduct audits for accuracy
Overseeing creation of event participant correspondence including save the date announcements, invitations, thank you letters, etc.
Meeting with organizing committees to plan scope and format of events including community and third party fundraisers throughout the year
Planning and develop programs, negotiate vendor contracts, monitor budgets, review procedures and event progress
Cultivating present and new event sponsorship opportunities and maintain ongoing relationships
Helping create marketing materials for events with assistance of Board Executives

Requirements for this position include:
3-5 years minimum experience of successful special events and/or fundraising planning preferable in a non-profit organization
Ability to work in a team environment
Must have your own laptop, cell phone, transportation, and flexibility to work from home or office
Ability in building community and corporate relationships
Computer knowledge and experience in MS office, Word, and Excel required
Knowledge and understanding of Greater Giving and/or Donor Perfect software preferred
Bachelor?s degree in a relevant field preferred
Marketing experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
