The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry invites applications for two full-time 1.0 FTE faculty positions in the Department of Periodontology at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.
The School of Dentistry shares the mission of the Oregon Health & Science University to provide educational programs, basic and clinical research, and high quality care and community programs. The dental school prepares graduates in general dentistry and the dental specialties to deliver compassionate and ethical oro-facial health care.

Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range
Monday - Friday, Days; 1.0 FTE
Salary and rank will be based on qualifications and experience.
Functions/Duties of Position
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
This position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Periodontology. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry and include: Participation in the clinic and didactic education of the dental students as assigned by the Curriculum Committee and the Chair. Participation in department activities as directed. Provision of dental care for patients as indicated and as assigned by the Chair. Participation in administrative committees and councils of the School of Dentistry and the Oregon Health & Sciences University as approved by the Chair. Participation in professionally related public service activities on behalf of the department and the School of Dentistry as required. This position requires undivided effort at the specified FTE. The general pattern of working hours corresponds with scheduled clinic hours, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Deviations from this pattern may be necessary at times.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification: The degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine or Doctor of Dental Surgery is required.
Professional
Qualifications: The applicant must have a dental degree (DDS/DMD) and certificate in Periodontics recognized by the Commission on Dental Education of the American Dental Association and the ability to obtain a dental license in the state of Oregon. Certification by the American Board of Periodontology is preferred.
Additional Details
Will occasionally need to lift up to 30 lbs (supplies). May need to lift patients to/from wheelchairs or transport beds. Ability to stand/walk for 4 continuous hours a day. Environmental exposures include: blood, body fluids, needle sticks, nitrous oxide, scalpel cuts, and minimum radiation.
