Functions/Duties of Position
Key
Responsibilities:
Clinical: 80% of time will be spent clinically in general clinical cardiology. The general clinical cardiology duties will include medical management of patients with chronic or acute heart disease, managing critically ill patients with primary cardiac disorders, performing cardiovascular procedures as an attending physician on the inpatient cardiology services (CCU or consult). Serving as an attending in our outreach programs may also be required depending on availability and the divisional needs. Administrative roles will be offered as ability and needs match, including developing systems of care for inpatient cardiology services and leading personnel on the service.
Research: If you participate in clinical or basic research, your clinical FTE will be adjusted based on the salary you receive from these endeavors. We expect you to collaborate with your colleagues in clinical research and develop a portfolio of clinical research activities that are funded from extramural sources (industry or peer-reviewed grants).
Education: As teaching is an important portion of the cardiology mission you will be responsible for the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. You will spend 20% of your time on these activities.
Job Requirements
Must be a licensed MD, Board Certified in Cardiology. Prior experience working in an academic health facility preferred.
