Functions/Duties of Position
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the OHSU, the Institute on Development & Disability and Child Development & Rehabilitation Center missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Key duties include:
Provides speech/language and oral motor assessments for CDRC clients in Child Development, Feeding and Neurodevelopmental clinics
Provides speech/language services to other CDRC programs as needed
Administers formal speech and language tests; recommends intervention strategies, and communicates diagnostic information to families and community professionals
Participates in interdisciplinary clinics
Provides speech/language or feeding therapy services to selected CDRC clients
Gives presentations to CDRC staff and community groups; participates in appropriate community groups as approved by the Clinical director, conducts clinical research when supported by external funding
This position supports and participates in monitoring and evaluating quality assessment and improvement of patient care provided at CDRC as part of the annual appraisal of the CDRC program. The specific responsibilities of this position that are in support of quality assessment and improvement activities include:
Clinic specific meetings to discuss quality assessment and improvement activities
Joint improvement planning with Portland SLP practitioners and faculty
Planning continuing education activities in Eugene
Job Requirements
Required:
MA, MS or PhD in Speech Pathology
Licensed as a Speech Pathologist by the State of Oregon
Experienced with providing speech and language services to children
Diagnostic assessment experience with children referred for suspect autism spectrum disorders, developmental, neuromotor, and learning disabilities
