This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. Must be able to work all hours, all days. This includes, day shift, swing shift, night shift, weekends and holidays. Salary range is $41,096 to $61,696/year. This position is located at the Marquam Hill campus.
Functions/Duties of Position
Retail Supervisors are responsible for 24 hour a day/ 365 days a year oversight of operation assigned. Retail Supervisors manage retail operations(s) with aggregate budgetary responsibilities/expenditures of $1.5-$5.5 million and have ancillary responsibility for additional OHSU retail foodservice operations as needed.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to);
1. Direct in unit supervision of operations on a continual basis. Assuring the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, food quality and operational excellence.
2. Developing schedules and work outlines for hourly staff consisting of multiple classifications such as; Cooks, Cashiers, Baristas and Food Service Workers,
3. Interviewing and hiring new employees, training, disciplinary action as needed in accordance with institutional standards and collective bargaining agreement, organizing employees and assigning duties.
4. Supervising meal periods, monitoring guest service levels
5. Conducting employee evaluations
6. Monitoring Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, ensuring compliance with county and state health department rules and regulations, enforcing and monitoring Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point food safety and sanitation program.
7. Implementing planned merchandising campaigns for the retail location supervised in collaboration with Manager of Retail Services.
8. Monitoring food and labor costs and taking corrective action when needed, developing and managing the menu for the retail location supervised
9. Developing new retail business concepts (includes business planning, design, and menu development).
Retail Supervisors are responsible for assessing general customer satisfaction during all meals periods by visiting with guests, as well as providing knowledge regarding the menu, ingredients to guests as needed. Assistance to guests and employees will be provided as needed.
Retail Supervisors must be capable, willing, and able to proficiently perform all job functions for the employees they supervise in their operations including but not limited to; cooking, serving, bussing, barista, cleaning and cashiering.

REQUIRED:
High school diploma /GED
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail foodservice operation
Good understanding of budget and forecasting, Cost of Goods sold (COGS), labor cost, hiring, and discipline of employees, customer service, menu development and leadership
Current ServSafe certification or equivalent
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's Degree
5-8 years for food service and supervisory experience
Previous experience in creating budgets, forecasts, customer service, hiring and discipline of employees as well as prior work with union contracts
NRA FMP Certification

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to a variety of food products, restaurant grade chemicals, heat, cold and loud noise.
Exposure to a large amount of people on a daily basis.
Must be able to work long hours as needed and be available on an on-call basis.
This position primarily works evenings, weekends, and holidays while management is not on site.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to a grill, steamer, tilting skillet, mixer and dish machine.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Ability to stand and walk continuously for long periods of time.
Ability to perform a variety of movements such as bending, pulling, twisting and reaching.
Ability to use and operate cash register and POS systems.
