This is a Postdoctoral Position
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; 1.0 FTE; Salary: Starting at $42,000, based on experience; Location: Center for Health and Healing, South Waterfront.
Functions/Duties of Position
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who will work on a clinic-ready formulation of our therapeutic siRNA-nanoparticles. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for inorganic or polymeric nanoparticle synthesis, chemical surface modification, chemical conjugation, and characterization (must). He/She will also examine the scale-up, lyophilization, and shelf-life of the materials. Depending on skillset, the postdoctoral researcher may evaluate the efficacy of the materials for gene knock-down in cells and in relevant mouse cancer models.
Job Requirements
Required:
PhD in bio-engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other relevant fields.
Experience with nanoparticle synthesis.
Experience with chemical conjugation.
Preferred:
Preferred experiences/skills include: antibody purification using HPLC, lyophilization, scale-up synthesis, cell culture, RNA interference, aseptic techniques, and mouse tumor modeling.
Recent PhDs who have experience working with nanoparticles in biomedical applications (drug/gene delivery, imaging agents) are encouraged to apply.
