Monday - Friday; 1.0 FTE; Salary Range: $25.86-35.17/hr. Location: near the South Water Front.
Functions/Duties of Position
A Value Analyst performs product standardization and value analysis responsibilities by providing leadership in market intelligence and strategic and tactical supply chain benefit analysis. The Value Analyst is responsible for optimizing institutional utilization of GPO and local contracts and standardization programs, managing selection and procurement of new products, and monitoring vendor solicitation activities throughout the institution. The Value Analyst utilizes clinical and business experience to act as a liaison between Logistics, OHSU clinical departments, and senior administration through the Value Analysis Committee in order to ensure a balance between quality patient care and institutional fiscal health.
Job Requirements
Required: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or other field related to the position OR three (3) additional years of relevant experience AND Three (3) years of progressive responsibility in purchasing or contracting, OR in a clinical setting with demonstrated medical product proficiency or medical product selection. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with OHSU staff and vendors, in a variety of situations including negotiation, internal program sales, and committee management. Analytical skills required for problem solving, contract analysis, financial analysis, and contract development. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology and medical supply product knowledge. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of spreadsheet and database systems. Strong negotiation skills necessary in order to obtain the best value for OHSU. Preferred: Business Administration experience. Program or project management experience. Understanding of medical terminology and medical supply product knowledge; knowledge of contracts and specifications for complex medical, scientific and highly technical products; understanding of the medical vendor community and Group Purchasing Organizations; understanding of project management techniques.
