The Knight Cancer Institute is a large and complex program whose mission is to develop excellence in fundamental cancer research and facilitate the translation of that research into improvements in cancer patient care, to provide world class cancer care to the residents of Oregon and Southwest Washington and to make the incidence of cancer in these areas the lowest in the nation.
Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range
This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
M-F, Occasional evenings and weekends; 1.0FTE; Salary Range: $16.26-21.78/hour; location: Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
The Accounting Tech will be an integral part of the Knight central finance team. This position will be responsible for maintaining spreadsheet, updating financial data sets & reports, and monitoring and approving of accounting transactions. The position will work closely with the Knight's Analyst, GCC's and accounting staff to provide a spectrum of accounting transactions and reporting services.
Job Requirements
Required:
Completion of Associate's degree in accounting/bookkeeping and 1 year of experience; OR Two years of accounting technician/bookkeeping experience; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have excellent skills with computers running Windows and PC applications (e.g. MS Excel, Oracle, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time and avoid crisis
Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person
Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships
