Functions/Duties of Position
The Business Data Analyst 2 gathers, compiles, analyzes and provides qualitative and quantitative information and statistical data, and presents this information in narrative or schematic form for use in business planning and administrative decision making to support the Supply Automation, Cath Lab/IR, Warehouse and Linen Departments.
Key Responsibilities include:
Business Analysis and Development: Gathers and compiles raw data from a variety of sources for business research information. Gathers data, and analyzes results. Participates with information systems staff in designing and implementing new or enhanced information systems. Includes but is not limited to analysis and action planning for ParEx Optimization, ScrubEx Usage Trends, Linen Usage, OCE Linen Reporting, Owens & Minor Reporting, and Warehouse Statistics.
Report Generation: Oversees and ensures the appropriate formatting, content and production of regular and ad hoc reports. Extracts data from computer printouts and applies software (e.g., statistical, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database) to the analysis and reporting of findings. Uses computer report generator language software packages or writes routine programs to retrieve, edit, and tabulate data from various databases and files. Displays and maintains data in graphs, summary tables, and charts. Interprets researched information. Writes reports, such as summaries of statistical studies, narrative reports and articles for publication including summary tables, graphs, and charts. Summarizes data into various formats and writes short reports, or sections of major reports. Includes but is not limited to Supply Automation, Linen, Cath Lab and IR, and Warehouse KPI's and benchmarking.
Business Consulting: Provides consultation and assists managers and leaders in the use of analytical and reporting tools to develop effective cost, quality and satisfaction outcomes. Provides recommendations based on information produced. Participates in/facilitates work groups and committees. Reviews reports, papers, memos and articles of staff to ensure proper use of data and offer consultation.
Project Management/Business Case Management : Facilitates and/or participates in project/business management duties as they relate to the Supply Automation, Linen, Cath Lab and IR, and Warehouse environment.
Job Requirements
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelors degree in a business filed and one year of experience that included analyatical, database, and/or financial experience, technical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
Associates degree in a business filed plus three years of experience that included analytical, databse, spreadsheet and/or financial experience, tehcnical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
Five years of experience that included analytical, databse, spreadsheet and/or financial experience, technical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Must have knowledge of supply procedures and systems, including Oracle computer system, PAR stocking, department requests, Point of use Supply Stations / point of use systems; knowledge of inventory control and management; ability to analyze customer requirements and establish Par levels and reorder points; Excellent analytical and problem solving ability; excellent customer service characteristics including communication skills, professionalism, and follow through. Must have the ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships. Must also have the energy and drive to coordinate several projects simultaneously and strong organizational skills in order to anticipate and meet time lines. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, while being collaborative in resolving problems. Must be able to utilize MS Word, MS Project, creating queries and reports in Access and MS Excel.
