BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:
The successful candidate will develop, define, and implement direction to assigned areas of responsibility, and to the Portland plant in total, as part of the Plant Management Team. This position guides the organization in continuous pursuit of plant, group, and product line goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Foster an environment of teamwork between manufacturing engineering, production, and maintenance departments to address daily issues and meet long term objectives
Balance day-to-day business while driving the organization toward manufacturing excellence
Jointly develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, and plans for the plant
Align and maintain adequate levels of resources to meet plant and product line plans, including manpower and machine requirements
Grow team members through training and development opportunities, one-on-one feedback, competency, TPA and career development discussions
Develop individuals into cohesive teams
Identify appropriate interventions and countermeasures to meet group objectives
Select and train team members to meet production and quality standards, ISO compliance and delivery schedules
Establish and track key indicators and targets for business performance to meet goals
Continuously improve capability and reliability of processes
Maintain procedures, standardization, and use of TQC tools as well as ISO 9000 certification
Develop annual operating budgets, monitor ongoing intervention, take countermeasures when necessary
Determine capital equipment needs
Ensure operation meets all regulatory agencies requirements
Ensure a safe environment and promote safety awareness in the workforce
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Science is required
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
10 or more years manufacturing background in a high volume repetitive manufacturing organization
5 or more years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
Understanding of the following areas:
Chain Production
Manufacturing Engineering
Quality Services
Tooling Build and Maintenance
Machine and Electrical Maintenance
Safety and Environmental
Security
Shipping and Receiving
Planning
Strong analytical skills paired with excellent project management abilities
Ability to effectively lead change
Team building skills
Excellent independent judgment and decision making skills
Able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Excellent verbal communication skills, able to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and written
Strong presentation skills
SAP experience required; experience with Costing, Planning, and CMA helpful
