Work Unit Description
The Department of Pediatrics at Doernbecher Children's Hospital (DCH) seeks a full time faculty member at the associate, assistant or full professor level. DCH is a 151-bed modern state-of-the art facility on the OHSU campus and serves as the tertiary and quaternary referral center for all of Oregon and SW Washington. Currently, the Department of Pediatrics is establishing a Pediatric Rheumatology practice and the position is the initial component of that expansion.
Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range
1.0 FTE; Salary: Competitive, Location: Marquam Hill
Functions/Duties of Position
The duties of this position include:
Provide pediatric care to infants, children, adolescents, and youth in at Doernbecher Children's Hospital's Rheumatology Clinic
Provide patient care, including consultations with physicians at other regional medical centers
Diagnose and treat children with disorders including juvenile idiopathic arthritis (formerly known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis), systemic lupus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, and vasculitis
Primarily function in the outpatient setting, with some care for or consult on hospitalized patients
Pediatric faculty members at OHSU also provide clinical teaching and supervision of pediatric fellows, residents and medical students in the clinic. This position will educate both in the clinical environment and through conferences, seminars, and interdepartmental activities. There are also many opportunities for other scholarly activity, especially around research. Candidates with a strong interest in academic pursuits are encouraged to apply. There may also be some additional educational or administrative duties. Faculty are also expected to participate as assigned in departmental and institutional administrative committees.
