This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
This is a part-time (0.5) FTE position. Schedule will be Monday through friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Salary range for this position will be $15.78 to $21.15/hour. This position is located at the Marquam Hill campus.
Functions/Duties of Position
The Patient Access Service Specialist gathers and records required information about patients; provides specific customer services which include screening for financial eligibility, confirming health insurance coverage and individual's obligations, obtaining
necessary authorizations for care, scheduling appointments, and assisting patients in an office or clinic setting.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
Six months of work experience in a medical office setting, including high volume direct patient contact OR one year of work experience in a high volume direct public contact position.
Basic computer keyboarding skills including typing of 30 - 45 wpm.
General office operations
Customer service oriented verbal and written communication
Able to prioritize workloads.
Communicates with Manager when encountering an angry customer.
PREFERRED:
Graduate from high school.
Prior Administrative Assistant experience in an OHSU hospital clinic.
Experience with data collection from insurance companies.
Excellent customer service skills
Typing- 60
words/minute
Epic Scheduling, (Cadence)
Oracle (ordering supplies)
AA/AS degree
Kronos experience
Additional Details
WORKING CONDITIONS:
8 to 4:30 PM with 30 minutes for lunch.
