1.0 FTE; Salary commensurate with experience; location: Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor on the furtherance of the University's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. This position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Neurology. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine.
Duties are within the Department of Neurology, Neurocritical Care Program, as follows:
a) Clinical
Responsibilities: You will implement and develop the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit in the OHSU Hospital. Participate in the two-attending model by taking weeklong day or night shifts as assigned by the director of the NSICU.
b) Research
Responsibilities: As a member of the Department you are expected and encouraged to pursue funded research activities that further your professional development and the advancement of scientific knowledge. You will develop and maintain a funded research program as part of the Neurosciences Critical Care Program.
c) Academic
Responsibilities: You will teach medical students, residents and fellows as deemed appropriate by the Department of Neurology.You will participate in Departmental activities consistent with your position and with the understanding that your position requires focus and dedication of time to the Neurosciences Critical Care Program. Other activities include, but are not limited to, teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, community outreach and membership on Departmental and SOM committees.
Job Requirements
Required:
Candidates should be board certified or board eligible neurologists who are certified or eligible for certification in Neurocritical Care. Interest in clinical research is preferred. Salary, academic rank and administrative responsibilities will be consistent with individual training and accomplishment.
