This is a full-time (1.0) FTE position. Schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is located downtown Portland.
Functions/Duties of Position
The Enterprise Coding Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight of all inpatient coding functions and concurrent clinical documentation improvement program. The manager is responsible for managing the organizational and administrative operations for all inpatient hospital and emergency room coding. Facilitates modifications to clinical documentation to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality through extensive interaction with physicians, case management, nursing staff, other patient care givers and Enterprise Coding staff. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and hospital outcomes. The manager is responsible for the development and implementation of systems, policies & procedures to assure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. Works collaboratively with medical staff, quality management, directors, managers and staff to further the vision and missing of OHSU.

REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 years' management or supervisory experience.
Minimum 5 years' experience in healthcare setting.
Advanced coding skills in an acute care hospital setting.
In depth knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPC coding guidelines.
Clinical Documentation Improvement program experience is highly regarded.
Knowledge of coding and documentation compliance related to CMS, JACHO, COP and other regulatory agencies is required.
Knowledge of applied statistics, process analysis and outcomes analysis required.
Thorough knowledge of all HIM functions required.
Proficiency utilizing 3M applications, EPIC, Microsoft office required.
Demonstrate strong critical thinking, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
RHIT, RHIA who is active member of AHIMA.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience
