1.0 FTE; Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; occasional evenings; requires extensive travel in eastern Oregon.
Functions/Duties of Position
The Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN) was established in 2002 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. ORPRN is dedicated to improving the health of rural Oregonians by promoting knowledge transfer between communities and clinicians. ORPRN facilitates a broad variety of clinical health care research, quality improvement projects, and practice transformation efforts in rural Oregon through the work of the Practice Enhancement Research Coordinator (PERC). PERCs are located in different regional communities within the state. ORPRN is accepting applications for a PERC to serve eastern Oregon, based in La Grande, Baker City or Pendleton.
The Eastern Oregon PERC will have several responsibilities that include:
1. Conduct ORPRN Research
a. Recruit and consent participants
b. Collect, organize and submit data
c. Monitor site data quality.
2. Facilitate quality improvement (QI) and practice transformation efforts
a. Introduce or reinforce QI tools, collect data, and participate in team QI meetings.
b. Coach and motivate clinic teams, encouraging communication and broad involvement.
c. Facilitate clinic group discussions to set priorities.
3. Support ORPRN member clinics and investigators
a. Link clinicians and researchers to initiate or conduct research.
b. Act as a resource within practices and communities
c. Recruit new practices into the Network
4. Community Engagement
a. Foster relationships with practices and community organizations, reporting local needs and identifying areas of research interest.
b. Connect practices to larger research vision, promoting an understanding of local needs.
c. Represent and promote ORPRN with regional health systems, critical access hospitals and community health improvement organizations.
Job Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in field of research, sciences, or other professional degree; RN or; allied health professional.
High-level computer knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, with data entry skills.
Preferred:
1-3 years in research data collection, methodology and implementation.
1 year in primary care setting and experience with practice facilitation preferred.
Ability to create spreadsheets, data entry forms and reports, experience with Microsoft Access, experience with electronic health records.
Knowledge of quality improvement methods preferred.
Experience with PCPCH, meaningful use, NCQA preferred.
Certification with ACRP, SoCRA or equivalent.
