This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. Schedule will be Monday through Friday. Salary range for this position is $66,759 - $103,142/year. This position is located on in downtown Portland.
Functions/Duties of Position
The vision of the Clinical Informatics Department (CID) is to realize the full benefits of OHSU's clinical information systems. CID will apply the science of informatics to enable excellence in patient care services, to educate learners, and to advance the methods of applied information.
This senior position is responsible for designing and developing reporting solutions to service complex reporting requests from OHSU healthcare clinical Users in both the Ambulatory and Inpatient settings. This work ensures that the information assets of the OHSU enterprise are leveraged to enhance clinical and operational decision-making, thereby contributing to better quality of care, improved customer experience and better patient outcomes. This position is responsible for implementing information technology solutions that provide timely and accurate information to clinical Users for managing, improving and enhancing their operation.
This senior position will partner and collaborate with Clinical Users in both Ambulatory and Inpatient settings to understand the information needs and define the requirements, with ITG-Business Intelligence architects and engineers to design solutions and develop better Data Warehouse capabilities, and with Workflow Analysts to understand the associated OHSU workflows that capture the clinical data.
Additional responsibilities for this senior analyst position include; training clinical Users to access clinical data through the use of reporting tools, mentoring other analysts in the group on the reporting tools and the BKM's for developing reporting solutions, and contributing to the ongoing process improvement of the group through Lean techniques.
The Analyst will observe due care, objectivity and respect for confidentiality. All employees must keep confidential what they hear and what they see when handling, reviewing, or observing: communications and records thereof (calls, email, pages, fax, etc.), data transmission, databases, or other forms of information Confidentiality extends to the identities of the parties of the communications, and even to the fact that the communication took place. When sharing information, consider whether the recipient has a true business need to know.
CID employees are responsible for the security of OHSU technology. In exercising their duties, CID employees must follow OHSU security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the ITG Security Engineering team.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and six years of work related
experience in the information technology field; OR
Associate's degree in computer science or related field and seven years of work related
experience in the information technology field; OR
Eight years of work related experience in the information technology field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience willbe substituted for an Associate's degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Healthcare knowledge in Ambulatory or Inpatient workflows.
Minimum three years of experience creating reports using Business Object tools and/or Cognos tools.
Strong SQL Coding skills
Excellent Communication
Excellent Business Analysis skills
PREFERRED:
Knowledge of Epic Healthcare Data and the Epic Cogito data warehouse
Epic Clarity certification
Epic Reporting Work Bench (RWB) certification
Other Epic Healthcare certification
