We currently have a career opportunity for a Tax Manager in the Tax Performance Advisory (TPA) group of our Tax Reporting & Compliance practice. TPA works with tax departments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their indirect tax operations.
Today's dynamic corporate environment is changing the way tax is doing business. The most comprehensive solution for developing and maintaining tax controls in the area of indirect taxes is the implementation of a transaction tax calculation engine to automate the tax determination, calculation and compliance processes with respect to our client's sales and/or purchases. Their transactional systems may include enterprise-wide applications (ERP systems), homegrown systems, and/or web-based storefronts. Their tax calculation engine may be the internal functionality within an ERP system, a third-party bolt-on tax application (such as Vertex, Sabrix or Taxware), a custom solution, or a combination of several solutions.

Responsibilities
Help client tax departments operate at peak efficiency and productivity and better position them to take advantage of tax saving opportunities that might otherwise go undetected.
Transfer control of tax decision-making from the transaction processing personnel and outside vendors to the tax specialists within our client's tax department.
Understand how to define the solution, coordinate the necessary technical resources, and deliver a finished product that fulfills the client's goals and tax requirements, including:
Documenting and reviewing current state tax processes and controls to identify enhancement opportunities Supporting the development of a business case to justify tax process enhancement solutions Providing support during the indirect tax software/ vendor selection process Documenting tax data requirements Implementing automated indirect tax calculation and compliance solutions
Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have:
a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience an undergraduate emphasis in accounting and approximately 5 years of related work experience in indirect tax process improvement experience or equivalent experience in business or industry; or a master's degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience preferred CPA or EA certification sales and use tax experience and/or corporate indirect tax compliance experience preferred excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills relevant experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: indirect tax software products such as Vertex, ONESOURCE Sabrix, ADP Taxware; tax data and reporting requirements for ledger and consolidation systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.; tax process and operational assessments willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time
We seek candidates with strong indirect tax functional knowledge as well as demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others and build meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
