The Graduate School of Education at Portland State University invites applications and nominations for a 1.0 FTE 9-month, tenure track appointment, at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP) PK-12 Executive Leadership Program, starting September 16, 2015.

PK-12 Executive Leadership Program:
Consistent with the Graduate School of Education's guiding principles, the PK-12 Executive Leadership Program faculty has a deep commitment to social justice, sustainability, evidence-based inquiry, contextually based teaching and learning, high quality research, community partnerships, and the preparation of exemplary school leaders. The program faculty has taken a leadership role at the state level in adopting and implementing new standards for licensure with a central focus on teaching and learning and preparing culturally competent leaders. We embrace the challenges of preparing school leaders and seek a motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic individual interested in a life of scholarship grounded in collaborative problem-solving partnerships within our diverse context.
The PK-12 Executive Leadership Program offers a nationally recognized two-tiered license program for educators seeking administrative careers. While offering a Master's degree and licensure, the program also actively participates in the school-wide doctoral program (Ed.D.) in educational leadership. The licensure program is the largest preparation program for school administrators in Oregon, licensing more than 100 persons each year. The first tier Initial Administrator License Program includes five cohorts distributed across the state, featuring a relevant, integrated and research-based curriculum developed by a faculty workgroup in regularly scheduled work sessions throughout the school year. The second tier Continuing Administrator License program is also offered in several locations across Oregon and has been developed through the collaborative efforts of university faculty and administrators in cooperating schools and districts.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor Rank:
Doctorate in Educational Leadership or Educational Administration;
Administrative leadership experience in PK-12 education;
Evidence of potential for research and publication;
Ability to communicate effectively;
Experience in culturally-diverse settings;
Broad background in instructional leadership, school-community relations, organizational policy and management, human/fiscal resources, organizational systems, and/or outcomes assessment;
Commitment to shared decision-making
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with, and commitment to, using technology as a tool for teaching and learning, course development, and instructional delivery;
Experience and commitment to supervising the field work of education leadership candidates,
Experience supervising the dissertation research of doctoral students
Demonstrated experience in teaching educational leadership courses.
Additional Required Qualifications for Associate Professor Rank:
Record of published research;
Experience teaching Experience supervising field work of educational leadership candidates;
Evidence of successful acquisition of external grants and/or funding.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Teach courses in the core educational leadership areas for the master's, licensure, and doctoral programs in a face-to-face, online, and hybrid model;
Facilitate cohort development and lead cohort classes;
Supervise students in administrative practicum experiences in community schools;
Advise doctoral and master's students;
Maintain an active research and publication agenda;
Seek external grants and funding;
Participate fully in the collaborative leadership of the department, college, and university;
Perform professional service that connects to the needs of practitioners and policy makers; and
Participate actively in state and national professional organizations.
Salary and Rank:
The starting annual salary rate for this position will be dependent upon qualifications and experience with an excellent benefits package including fully paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependant at any of the Oregon University System schools.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
