This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
This is a relief (.003 FTE) position. Vacation and sick coverage as needed, 12 hour shifts. The salary range for this position is $26.88 to $36.64/hour. This position is located in on the Marquam Hill campus.
Functions/Duties of Position
The Medical Social Worker, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, has the primary responsibility for assessment, counseling, information/referral, crisis intervention, patient advocacy and associated services to patients, families, significant others and involved parties/agencies. The efforts are directed at assisting in the patient/family adjustment to illness, injury or disability and secondary adjustment to hospitalization or other treatment, and readjustment to the community upon facility discharge. The Department has corresponding teaching and research functions related to health and healthcare delivery practices. The Medical Social Worker provides direct intervention on an as-needed basis with infants, children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients and/or families. The Medical Social Worker is expected to practice in accordance with performance standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence.

REQUIRED:
Masters of Social Work.
MSW, CSWA
Able to implement assessments, short term counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy. Excellent task prioritization, time management, and communication skills.
PREFERRED:
1 year of hospital experience.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
LCSW.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires prioritization.
Frequent interruptions in an environment of frequent change and fluctuations.
For inpatient units accepts accountability and responsibility.
May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, possible radiation exposure, and infectious processes.
Subject to computer work for several hours, as needed.
Able to utilize office equipment within work area.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Standing: On concrete, vinyl, or carpeting up to 4 hours per day and intermittently.
Sitting: Chair or stool continuous up to 8 hours per day and intermittently.
Changing Position: Intermittently, as needed.
Walking: Intermittently up to 4 hours per day on concrete, vinyl, and carpeting.
Bending: From the waist and knees, frequently throughout the day.
Reaching/Handling: Fine manipulation, repetitive, gross motor requiring full ROM in upper extremities, including overhead reaching.
Twisting: All ROM required, intermittent periods, throughout the day.
Climbing: Staircase, intermittently throughout the day.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
