This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
This is a full time (1.0 FTE) position. Schedule will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The salary range for this position is $18.30 - $24.52/hour. This position is located on Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
This position directly supports Clinical Transplant Services objectives, which include clinical care, quality assurance and coverage across all organ groups. The PAS Coordinator 1 in this role is responsible for expert guidance and oversight of EPIC Phoenix workflows of PAS Specialists and PAS Resource Specialists, including training, workflow auditing utilizing reporting workbench and individual and pool in-basket monitoring, process improvement identification and dissemination, and workflow tool design and implementation. This role is responsible for flexible coverage across all organ groups and provides high quality customer service to staff, patients, providers, referring providers and payors. This person in this role is an expert in using EPIC Phoenix, and all functionality it provides end users, who include PAS Specialists and PAS Resource Specialists, transplant coordinators and providers. The person in this role fills in as needed in all PAS roles and assesses and triages patient access issues and arranges coverage for absent staff or staff needing work schedule assistance. This position assists management with interviewing, orientation and training of new transplant staff, and assists staff with problem solving and conflict resolution. This person requests and removes all PAS access to EPIC Phoenix and the OHSU network. This role provides input to management regarding behavioral concerns. This position is responsible for investigating room utilization statistics and modifying provider templates as necessary, and ensuring all WQs, authorizations and scheduling are compliant within transplant policies. This person serves and an ITC expert and troubleshoots access and equipment issues. This role identifies resource needs in alignment with expenditures and revenue, and allocates resources accordingly.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
Two years of front-line clerical experience in a clinical setting with direct patient contact; experience must include scheduling of appointments and obtaining managed care authorizations
Demonstrated high quality of customer service that includes face-to-face communication in a professional manner, problem solving, crisis management.
Must be flexible and show demonstrated process improvement methods.
Demonstrated previous training and assessment of staff.
Demonstrated expert understanding of PAS specialist and PAS resource specialist workflows.
Knowledge of new employee required competencies and interviewing/hiring processes.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot clinical operation errors and implementation of corrective plans.
Demonstrated understanding of ITG procedures; demonstrated knowledge of quality activities.
PREFERRED:
BS or BA in any area
Knowledge of OHSU's PAS policies and procedures, with completed PAS training and core competencies.
Previous PAS experience; transplant experience; EPIC Phoenix experience; quality assurance experience.
EPIC Phoenix and transplant experience; medical multi-disciplinary experience; transplant regulatory agency and program quality understanding; ITC functions; workflow development and training.
Additional Details
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work general business office hours, hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
Occasional need to come in early or stay late to accommodate patient, staff or physician needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Must be able to sit for long periods of the day performing repetitive computer related tasks and phone work.
Ability to traverse the distances between buildings on campus as required.
Able to pull and file charts, transport charts to clinic locations.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
