Functions/Duties of Position
The responsibilities include but not limited to: conducting research that is focused on the screening and expression of fundamentally important integral membrane proteins; and working with postdoctoral fellows and/or graduate students in the laboratory on making DNA constructs of target membrane proteins, on expressing and purifying the target constructs (on a large scale) in a variety of expression systems (E. coli, yeast, insect cells, and mammalian cells), and on characterizing biochemical properties of the target proteins.
Job Requirements
Ph.D. degree required with 5 years of relevant experience. Experience with eukaryotic cell culture techniques is also required. Successful candidate must have the ability to work in a highly organized manner, be self-motivated and be able to effectively communicate within a diverse, productive research team.
