Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; .1.0FTE; Salary Range: $18.84-24.00/hour; Location: Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Department of Emergency Medicine Education Section. This position is responsible for but not limited to coordinating medical student education under the direction of the EM Medical Student Clerkship Director, providing administrative assistance in support of the EM residency program, acting as fellowship coordinator for all departmental programs, and preparing the Emergency Department off-service and intern shift schedule. This position is also the coordinator for the Visiting International Observer Program. This position is in direct support of the department's mission.
Job Requirements
Required:
Four years of general office or secretarial experience; OR an Associate's degree or certificate in office occupations or office technology and two years of general office or secretarial experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and two years of general office or secretarial experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Previous program coordination experience.
Experience in an administrative support role for upper division or executive level management.
Experience with scheduling appointments and complex calendaring.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access
Keyboarding proficiency and accurately type 65 WPM
Ability to work with very detailed information and independent decision-making and problem-solving skills required.
Strong ability to prioritize and organize projects and tasks in a timely manner, and ability to problem solve and manage on-going projects; strong time management skills.
Ability to work with complex issues related to resident schedule; outstanding interpersonal skills to interact professionally with residents, faculty, staff, and all levels of management.
Exceptional communication skills and organizational skills.
Excellent, professional communication skills, verbal and in writing.
Ability to work with a team and communicate effectively with other team members in a professional and timely manner.
Demonstrated skills with composing, editing, proofing, and copying written materials.
Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at past and present employers.
Preferred:
Experience coordinating graduate medical education (GME) programs.
