State and Local Tax Senior Manager - Sales & Use

We are currently seeking a State and Local Tax (SALT) Senior Manager - Sales & Use to join our firm. SALT Senior Managers are responsible for developing and delivering quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. They perform state and local tax compliance reviews, assist clients with state and local tax controversies, and research and draft technical memoranda regarding multistate sales and use tax issues. As a Senior Manager they will supervise the work of client service team members and participate in and contributing to attaining team goals. Mentoring and training Staff, Seniors and Managers is a crucial aspect of developing a tax practice and is an integral part of this job.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Taxation or a JD with LLM in Tax a plus
CPA preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues required
Minimum of 3 years of previous experience training and supervising Staff, Seniors and Managers required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a highly motivated self-starter and have experience in managing multiple client engagements
Experience in public accounting and/or a state and local government revenue department a plus
Experience with property, employment, income, and other miscellaneous state and local taxes a plus
