This is a relief (0.0 FTE) position. Schedule will be variable as needed. Salary will be $15.78 to $21.15/hour. This position is located on the Marquam Hill campus.
Functions/Duties of Position
The administrative assistant performs a wide variety of secretarial, technical, or administrative related tasks in support of the department of Care Management. The administrative assistant ensures that the main office runs smoothly by answering incoming calls and routing faxes and e-mails. S/he also assists the case managers on the units with discharge-planning needs and supports the social-work team as needed. The administrative assistant also performs various administrative tasks, such as arranging transportation for patients, putting discharge paperwork together, managing the charity clothing closet, as well as special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
Two years of general office or secretarial experience; OR
An Associate's degree or certificate in office occupations or office technology and one year of
general office or secretarial experience; OR
A Bachelor's degree and one year of general office or secretarial experience; OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience.
Previous experience in a hospital setting supporting an acute-care unit or providing discharge-planning/case-management support.
Inpatient Epic.
Medical terminology.
Ability to work with a variety of diverse customers, sometimes in difficult situations.
Ability to prioritize work demands and adjust work as priorities change.
Demonstrated excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
PREFERRED:
A Bachelor's degree and one year of general office or secretarial experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in a busy environment with interruptions, multiple demands, and people interactions.
The office setting is shared with six to eight others, and the position requires dealing with noise and frequent interruptions within the work group.
The administrative assistant's shift will be 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on one weekday and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM every Saturday.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Ability to sit for the majority of the shift, move about the work area, bend forward, and reach overhead.
Ability to carry and lift 50 lbs. and move carts.
