Our Client provides comprehensive ocean and air international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, global order logistics, distribution and surface transportation, and advanced e-commerce and trade facilitation solutions. They are looking for a full-time Customer Service Representative to work with the transportation team in their Portland, OR location. This position is responsible for processing international ocean and air cargo transactions, tracking shipments, working with vendors to gather information needed to complete transactions and communicate with customers to provide a high level of service. Hours will be Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. This position may require some flexibility with the hours and if the person is able to work a later schedule it would be helpful. They may be needed to work until as late as 7 pm.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year international air and / or ocean transportation experience, knowledge of international business practices, good customer service skills.
1. Track international shipments using websites, calling truckers and steamship lines.
2. Process international ocean shipments by entering information into system.
3. Advise customers of shipment status by phone calls and via email.
This is an estimated 4 month contingent/temporary position in Portland, OR and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions which is located in Portland, OR. PAY RATE: $15 PER HOUR

Qualifications:
4. Proficient computer skills. Strong customer service, organizational and communication (written/oral) skills.
5. Strong knowledge of CBP regulations and other federal regulations and requirements with respect to Air & Ocean Transportation.
6. Department of Commerce & treasury regulations such as export licensing & schedule B tariff classifications. Banking requirements for int'l trade. Regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping & foreign regulations.
7. BSA - ICC 400/500/322. Hazardous materials, shipping act of 1984, plant quarantine, USDA regulations, SGS & other independent surveyor & tariff requirements.
8. One (1) year of work/field experience preferred.

9. High School diploma/equivalent.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
