ABOUT THIS TEAM The Footwear innovation team is a diverse group of designers, developers, engineers, and scientists, who are future thinking, detail-orientated and solution focused.
They are at the forefront of performance and lifestyle footwear and aware of technological advances in product creation and how this relates to the sportswear industry.
They are strong communicators who value and develop their cross functional relationships.

A DAY IN THE LIFE The Innovation Industrial Design Engineer will collaborate with the cross-functional Innovation Development, Engineering, and Mainline teams to bring innovative ideas to life.
You will use concept sketches, design software, prototyping skills, engineering knowledge, and hands on experience to design, refine and carefully document footwear and accessories designs.
We expect this person to be an innovative, proven Industrial Designer who can ideate, innovate and manage the design process of complex product systems through collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES o Deliver design concepts at a high quality that enables innovation enrollment into mainline categories.
o Communicate and present through sketches, prototypes or models, and 2D/3D renderings, with demonstrated attention to detail.
o Marriage of engineering and aesthetics through creation of blueprints and techpacks.
o Express ideas and concepts through visual/verbal communication skills by contributing to ideation as well as proper implementation of ideas.
o Build process troubleshooting, POCs and techpacks for the internal and external teams including vendors (e.
g.
, manufacturing facilities overseas, user research).
o Research and Forecasting.
o Support multiple projects at very different levels of involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS - 8 - 10 years of experience working in design / engineering / product creation for athletic performance brands in the footwear industry; - Experience working at multiple athletic performance brands; - Portfolio of bringing sports product to market; - Mastery of the Adobe Suite, CAD and strong understanding of MS Office, MAC OS; - Expert ability to create technical footwear drawings and demonstrate knowledge of current trends and the ability to interpret trends; - A wide knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methodology; - Strong understanding of an experience employing design, construction techniques, and appropriate use of materials, including extensive knowledge and full understanding of product design and development including outsole construction, last making, materials, color, etc.
; - Knowledge of plastic and foam part and tooling design; - Experience and ability to excel in an ambiguous work environment with many moving pieces requiring strong entrepreneurial skills - Strong project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage conflicts; - Ability to act objectively and uncover facts; - Understand the complexities of the cross-functional requirements to deliver product; - Clear, concise and confident communicator that lives to support the business; and - Enjoy a fast pace environment and can create order from chaos.
