SRI is proud to only work with the largest service providers in the country which gives us endless opportunities for business and personal growth!Description of RoleSRI Telecom is seeking a recent Engineering Graduate or AutoCAD technician to contribute capturing as-built drawings of data centers.
The successful consultant will be responsible for populating Sunbird DC Track software with current floor plans, racks, and equipment inside each facility.
You will also be responsible for managing your timelines, priorities, updating target dates and completion dates in project trackers.
We are looking for motivated recent technical or engineering graduates and will train on the job.
Tasks Measure floor layout of data center facilities using measuring tapes and laser distance meters.
Utilize Sunbird DC Track software.
Capture all as-built information within a data center facility and populate into database.
Drive from facility to facility in a major metro area.
Be able to spend overnights in a hotel for areas greater than 60 miles from your home base.
Identify when further help may be needed for more information and manage request and follow-up.
Review completed design for errors and efficiency.
Ensure design specifications are maintained.
Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation Reviews, resolves and follows-up on request and complaints.
May advise, train, and guide other designers.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Responsibilities 2-4 year degree in technology, design or engineering is a major plus.
Experience with as-built maps (fiber, telco, etc) to identify current routes and splice points is preferred.
Experience in OSP construction, fiber construction, copper construction, utility construction is preferred.
Competence in design methodology, process, and metrics is preferred.
Must be able to navigate the use of a laptop and multiple sources of data (Google Maps, CAD, ISP maps) Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Visual design skills are a strong plus Attention to detail and ability to think creatively and strategically is a must Excellent organization and time management skills Must be able to work independently and without supervision Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members Work ScheduleMonday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm in an office environment.
