Functions/Duties of Position
This position is responsible for supporting the Epic Community Connect functionality starting with a project effort to integrate Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) data into the existing OHSU Epic Clarity data base and the associated Healthcare Data Warehouse. This effort will involve making MCMC data available for reporting while maintaining the functionality of the OHSU existing reporting and analytics capabilities by applying appropriate filters and security to the data and existing ETL processes. This positions will participate in project design, development, testing and implementation.
The goal of integrating MCMC as a Community Connect partner will be accomplished by performing and assisting with the necessary Epic Clarity data analysis, related ETL development and implementation of data level security in the associated Oracle and SQL Server database environments. This position will need to perform scoping and estimating on Clarity and Data Warehouse related development activities. Present technical information and design proposals in easily understood terms in both verbal and written form. Work closely with fellow IT staff and project management to develop, test and document systems and processes. Interact and work directly with customers, team members and analysts on project and support issues. Facilitates communication upward and across project teams. Follow change management and problem management processes.
This position is also responsible for detailed technical analysis to assure the availability and accuracy of data processed by the BIMD ETL or contained in the BIMD supported OHSU data warehouses and systems. This will include availability for rotation through an after hours on-call support model as needed for upgrades, project go lives or to provide ongoing support of new systems that may have 24x7 support agreements. This will require a broad knowledge of OHSU BI systems and workflows.
Job Requirements
Two or more years of paid work experience as an Application Engineer. Must have ten years of cumulative paid working experience in the information technology field; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience where: One year of experience will be substituted for an Associate's degree, Two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Successful candidates must have experience and working knowledge in operating system software, relational and/or hierarchical databases, and technical application support for administrative and clinical systems.
Minimum three or more years of current experience with Epic applications and/or the Epic Clarity environment
Minimum three or more years of experience developing in SQL Server/SSIS.
Four or more years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements and planning and managing projects.
Ability to read, write and maintain SQL code at an advanced skill level.
Epic Clarity certification.
