You'll have direct responsibility for leading rate setting of our Short- Term and Long-Term Disability products. You'll leverage your skillful relationship management as you partner with key internal stakeholders including underwriting and sales leaders and staff to balance appropriate profitability with new business goals. You'll be involved in evaluating and implementing new ways to price our products as we challenge ourselves to consider new methods through our Actuarial Transformation effort. You'll ensure timely and accurate rate filings across approximately 25 states that we conduct business in. Reporting Relationships You'll report to the AVP and Actuary in our group benefits pricing area. You'll have a team of three direct reports. Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
Establish credibility with key stakeholders to promote and implement effective and agile actuarial and rate setting approaches Ensure accurate and timely filings with various state Department of Insurance contacts. Lead rate setting across both short term and long term disability products. Ensure an inclusive and engaging work environment for your team, promoting diversity of thought and perspective. Provide leadership and coaching to existing staff as well as attract, retain, and develop new talent ensuring a pipeline of talent for the future. Support our Actuarial Transformation initiative ensuring successful implementation of improved procedures and processes. As an active member of the group benefits leadership team, you provide thought leadership as needed on various departmental as well as cross-functional teams supporting the insurance businesses. Provide actuarial advice and consultation to senior management on matters relating to all relevant products. Your
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree a plus. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries FSA or equivalent international designation Eight
years of actuarial experience within the insurance industry including sufficient relevant work experience in disability plan pricing. A minimum of three years prior people leadership strongly preferred. Leadership Competencies You Possess:

Salary Range:
$100K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
