The Network Engineer II participates in a team environment for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Cambia's network and security systems, under the direction or coaching of senior team members. This position requires the use of good technical, interpersonal and administrative skills in performing day to day work. General Functions and Outcomes Uses knowledge into other technical disciplines, which facilitate the understanding, coordination and communication between technical areas. Network & Security System hardware installation and configuration; system monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and support. Shares technical knowledge which makes everyone on the team perform better, gain higher compliance to industry technical standards and makes systems more efficient and maintainable. Responsible for quality and continuous improvement of Cambia's integrated voice, video and data communications infrastructure. Performs analysis of Cambia's integrated voice, video and data communications infrastructure. Creates network related policies, procedures, and standards with collaboration from team. Respond and escalate customer issues and requests to ensure their needs are met. Provide input for team member performance evaluations. Participate with, and manage contractors and vendors who sell, deploy and support network technology. Provide trending reports based on analysis of Cambia's integrated voice, video and data communications infrastructure. Actively seeks ways to maximize the efficiency of themselves and their team. Contributes to and supports the corporation's quality initiatives by encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation's quality improvement efforts. Prepares administration and support documentation. Prepares individual work plans and reports activities, tasks, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and status reports, as appropriate. Adheres to technical, and architecture standards, production implementation standards, regular status reporting, regular team participation, providing work estimates and regular time tracking. Assist with planning, installation, support of Firewall Systems. This position may be required to provide mentoring to Network Engineer I personnel. Minimum Requirements A minimum of 3 years relevant experience including, but not limited to, network administration of Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Switch, and Router systems, intrusion detection system administration, firewall administration, or Cisco networking environment, including, but not limited to network administration, network infrastructure planning, implementation and maintenance may be substituted for education. Must have experience in one or more of the following core technical areas:
Firewall administration using Palo Alto Firewalls or Zscaler. Should have knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
Intrusion Detection System / Intrusion Prevention System (IDS/IPS) administration; Proxy services administration. Must be experienced in supporting a network environment that includes a basic understanding of firewalls. Ability to develop positive relationships and effectively communicate with internal customers, coworkers and all levels of management. Ability to work effectively with other team members. Ability to work with minimum direction. Ability to plan and manage his/her own work. Ability to take direction from others in analyzing and solving network infrastructure issues and problems. Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve network and security performance problems or outages. Ability to automate network infrastructure tasks and document them for others to use. Ability to administer, coordinate and facilitate the operation of simple to complex network & security hardware, software, and management systems. Ability to resolve problems and recommend technical solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain structured cabling system. Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs. Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field. Appropriate additional experience beyond the minimum required experience may be substituted for education.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network AdministrationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
