Primary Job Purpose The Director, Technical Program and Engagement manages large-scale, very complex projects or multiple, concurrent projects from inception through project close-out, aligning technology solutions with CAIO business strategy to address complex issues and interactions that have a strategic impact. Requires significant technical depth and business acumen. This position leads multiple teams of people to ensure that resources and time across CAIO are spent on the right projects, all services run smoothly, and project objectives remain consistent with the overall business strategy. The position is also to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, while satisfying agreed-upon customer requirements and specifications within the scope of the project. General Functions and Outcomes Partner with the functional groups within the DTS organization to communicate and clarify business needs, identifying creative applications of technology to meet those needs; they contribute to the development of long-range system plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs. Responsible for the appropriateness, quality, and timeliness of all aspects of the project, manages the production of project estimates, develops project plan and schedule, establishes measures and milestones, and tracks ongoing progress, while proactively managing risks, issues, scope and human resources through the project life-cycle. Conduct business case analysis, business process and technology analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost versus benefit measurements; and communicate trends and requirements to and from customers and DTS, with particular emphasis on their technical areas of expertise. Leads Objective Key Results life cycle management across the organization Leads consumer engagement, business intelligence and advanced analytics teams to operationalize data and provide insights to business for Cambia products and services. Leads development and execution of strategy roadmaps for key strategic areas Enable capacity management life cycle across the organization allowing capacity forecast and hiring for future roadmap. Leads large scale projects and is responsible for the implementation and execution of project and performance criteria; maintains full knowledge of all phases of business-specific technology implementations. Provide strategic consultancy support to DTS and Business partners in defining or designing business processes and researching and identifying enabling technologies based on business requirements. Actively seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on technical trends and competitors' practices relevant to the assigned technical or business area. Assess near-term needs, utilizing structured interview processes to establish business priorities; consult with other subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities. Successful management of a team including coaching and development to build a high performing team with clear roles, responsibilities and objectives. Effective use of the Cambia management tools including Lawson, the Talent Management System and Learn to enable management. Facilitate the brokering of services within the technology community on behalf of DTS and Business partners; coordinate multisystem solutions to clarify interdependence so that systems appear seamless to customers. Ally with other DTS functional areas to remain apprised of project and available technology status and inform management of progress. Facilitate development of cross-line of business (LOB) and multiple-technical discipline solutions that combine knowledge of particular business processes and issues, specific technological options, and process facilitation techniques. Serve as a leader, offering insight and consultation throughout the IT Organization, including consultants. Responsible for project delivery and outcomes through effective project planning, task definition, scope management, resource allocation and negotiation, risk mitigation, cost management, and stakeholder communication to successful completion; accountable for the quality and timeliness of all defined projects, and for issues (goals, resource allocation, release planning, technology architecture, etc.) within the projects. Manages the overall project plan(s). portfolio. Prepares and presents project plans and status reports to organizational leadership, project teams and client/customer groups. Responsible for managing key relationships with vendors. Contribute to the development of, and ensure adherence to, industry wide best practices project and business management methods and practices. Defines, collects and analyzes metrics to ensure projects are on target. Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness. Develops and maintains the overall project documentation library ensuring that all documentation is established, maintained and retained as necessary in project databases. Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business. Communicates with technical leadership, business leadership and business consultants to communicate program strategy, direction and changes. Manages and communicates inter-project dependencies and issues (goals, resource allocation, release planning, technology architecture, etc.), coordinating and/or directing the activities of project managers involved in dependent projects as appropriate. Minimum Requirements Demonstrated experience in business process re-engineering or process improvements is desirable, involving broad-based information systems and utilizing tools, enabling technologies and techniques to effect business change. Demonstrated knowledge of Cambia products and business processes; experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business. Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence, advanced analytics and marketing. Candidate should be able to translate business requirements to technical solutions. Demonstrated strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business, coupled with demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills. Demonstrated aptitude in written communication, including technical writing and communication with all levels of leadership. Ability to understand how technology affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes. Ability to be a team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic. Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary, high-performance work teams. Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and develop contingency plans for risk factors. Demonstrated success in establishing specific deliverables for staff assigned to large scale, complex projects. Ability to be comfortable in a matrix, non hierarchical, flat organization and, if required, operate under dual reporting relationships; ability to thrive in a somewhat unstructured hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach and solutions that span multiple environments in a business area.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
