About the opportunity SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a GIS Analyst/Project Manager for our Portland, Oregon office. We are expanding our wetland geospatial mapping team and seeking experienced mapping specialists to manage National Wetland Inventory projects across the United States. What you will accomplish Act as the main point of contact for projects and coordinate directly with project managers and clients to meet project deadlines. Use remote sensing, GIS and photo interpretation techniques to identify and classify wetlands and other habitats within the US. Work independently on repetitive tasks for extend periods, followed by periods of intensive group interactions during data integration and review using novel and unique GIS approaches. Use numerous GIS and imagery datasets to inform photo interpretation and mapping processes, with a focus on identifying errors of omission, commission and classification. Plan, organize, and execute field verification of wetland and other habitat mapping efforts. Uses GPS, GIS, databases, and remote sensing software for mapping and analysis activities. Ability to create intricate workflows and models to more efficiently map natural resources. Work with Program Managers, Director, and other Group Leads to document standard wetland mapping protocols and procedures governing data development, analysis, mapping, reporting, and QA/QC based on internal best practices as well as client expectations Support internal and external marketing efforts by developing technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules. Participate in presentations, client interviews, and other business development activities. Maintain strong client relationships and an understanding of government funding that may affect contract opportunities Experience and qualifications for success Required Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, Archaeology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field with an emphasis in GIS (or GIS certificate). Master's degree a plus. Equivalent experience and coursework also acceptable. Minimum of five (5) years of experience beyond university attendance with GPS technology, field data collection techniques, data management, and troubleshooting of equipment and digital files Experience in managing projects, including financials, client interactions, and managing staff. Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS software suite. Knowledge of GPS, GIS, cartography, spatial analysis methods and other current technologies. Ability to think critically and effectively communicate. Ability to work efficiently and collaborate with existing mapping team. Knowledge of ecology, wetlands, and hydrology pertaining to wetland mapping and/or natural resources. Preferred Prior work in environmental consulting, with experience in the application of GIS and prior experience working with federal land agencies such as the USFWS, or other, is very desirable. Prior experience with National Wetland Inventory (NWI) mapping and NWI data creation standards. Knowledge of the USFWS's wetlands classification system (Cowardin et al. 1979) and familiarity with other classification systems (NVCS, NLCD, etc.) and their field application. Knowledge of the principles of fish and wildlife biology, botany, hydrology, and soils for preparation of user notes/base map reports, for completion of field surveys, and for technical assistance. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
