About the opportunity SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an experienced Geospatial Sciences Team Lead for our Portland office to provide dynamic technical leadership for our Portland-based wetland geospatial mapping team. This position will report to the GIS Program Manager and will be responsible for collaborating with other SWCA GIS groups. This position can be 100% remote or hybrid. The Geospatial Sciences Team Lead position will be a core member of SWCA's wetland geospatial mapping team program and will be responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of GIS and geospatial technologies including GIS project management, GIS technology integration, mentoring and managing staff, coordinating and collaboration with other GIS Team leads across the company, leading business development efforts, and upholding our company's standards of excellence. What you will accomplish Provide leadership and supervision for staff including hiring, professional growth mentorship, technical skills development, goals/objectives guidance, performance reviews, and issue resolution. Manage the workload and priorities of the team to ensure that productivity goals are met and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Lead regular group meetings to communicate and discuss corporate messages, project updates, and upcoming work with team members. Act as senior QA/QC officer within the wetland mapping team. Verify methods and outputs created by team members. Maintain accurate documentation. Provide forward-thinking guidance and direction for the development and implementation of new technologies, software, and innovative methods. Work with Program Managers, Director, and other Group Leads to document standard wetland mapping protocols and procedures governing data development, analysis, mapping, reporting, and QA/QC based on internal best practices as well as client expectations Support internal and external marketing efforts by developing technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules. Participate in presentations, client interviews, and other business development activities. Maintain strong client relationships and an understanding of government funding that may affect contract opportunities Use the Esri ArcGIS platform and applications for developing and managing GIS data, geoprocessing, analysis, cartographic design, and map production. Adhere to a clean, organized, and well-designed file structure for both spatial and non-spatial data. Experience and qualifications for success REQUIRED Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, Archaeology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field with an emphasis in GIS (or GIS certificate). Master's degree a plus. Equivalent experience and coursework also acceptable. A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional work beyond university attendance. Ability to lead a team and resolve issues that arise in an efficient and diplomatic manner. Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, and providing leadership for other professionals. Strong organizational skills related to scheduling time on projects and meeting deadlines while working within an organized file structure protocol. Proficient knowledge and ability to utilize Esri ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. Demonstrated knowledge of cartography and computer mapping including design principles and understanding map and mapping automation procedures in ArcGIS. General understanding of basic statistics, and geometric math computations (e.g., summary, distributions, frequency, min/max, range, angles, distance, slope, degrees, area) Ability to produce presentations, and/or written protocol of methods for reports or within metadata to replicate GIS-related analyses or modeling techniques applied on projects is strongly preferred. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to effectively prioritize, organize and manage tasks. PREFERRED or HELPFUL Knowledge of ecology, wetlands, and hydrology pertaining to wetland mapping and/or natural resources. Prior knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online web and mobile data collections systems, Python, database management, and other GIS platforms. Project management experience. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
