System Development Engineer, AWS Elemental MediaConvert

Job summaryAWS Elemental MediaConvert is an Amazon Web Services service that combines computationally intensive video processing with the power and scale of the cloud to help well known content owners and distributors prepare large amounts of content for viewer consumption.
MediaConvert provides video transcoding as a service and caters to all segments of the industry starting from security camera videos to 4K Ultra High definition HDR video for movies and TV serials.
Knowledge of video related technologies is not required.
As a member of the Control Plane team, you will apply and grow your knowledge of distributed systems, horizontal scaling, multi-tenant security, and many AWS services.
Video expertise is NOT required for this role -- this is primarily a distributed systems engineer role.
You will contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle:
design, experimentation, implementation, and automated testing.
Your code will orchestrate the processing millions of video assets around the world, and countless viewers will enjoy the final output.
You will be expected to dive deep, experiment rapidly, and deliver results autonomously.

Key job responsibilitiesIn this role, you will use metrics to drive operational improvements, build and implement the latest technologies to reduce operational issues, and contribute to the overall health of the service.
A day in the lifeOn a typical day, systems development engineers will manage, monitor, and help create tooling that will ensure that our service runs smoothly.
This person would have the opportunity to deep dive into anomalies, address scaling needs, and use data to ensure our service maintains an always on uptime.
We build or update tools typically written in a combination of Java, Python and Ruby.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
