Custodian

The Custodian provides custodial and support services for all OMSI facilities, activities, and events.
Custodial staff serve to help ensure that OMSI provides a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all guests and staff.
Essential Job Responsibilities Perform general custodial services, utilizing best practice for safety, efficiency, and environmental concerns; Set-up and teardown OMSI events and assist with office moves; Clean and stock restrooms on a daily basis, ensuring proper sanitary conditions and good appearance; Responsible for waste disposal throughout the OMSI campus, including interior and exterior spaces; Collaborate with other departments such as OMSI's Maintenance, Events and IT.
Working Conditions This position is non-exempt, paid hourly; This position is regular full-time scheduled for 40 hours/week; This position requires flexibility, working weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Demands:
5% sitting, 75% standing, 20% lifting/carrying/pushing 50 lbs; Vision Demands include:

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Strong customer service and communication skills; Ability to adhere to confidentiality, protocol, and community agreements; Ability to pivot between individual and team work; General knowledge of and ability to use a computer; Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with paid and unpaid staff.
Custodial Skills:
Knowledge of or ability to learn proper methods, techniques, materials, disinfectants, tools and equipment used in modern custodial work; Knowledge of or ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment; Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve custodial-related issues; Ability to learn and follow safety and protocol regulations.
PREFERENCES:
Ability to use a pressure washer.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
