Summary:
Works with fellow members of the Maintenance team to maintain facility in good repair by performing routine and scheduled maintenance duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Maintain campus buildings and equipment by performing routine maintenance and repairs for plumbing, light electrical, appliances, painting and other repairs as needed.
Completes scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on large scale HVAC equipment, including centralized boilers and domestic water heating systems and PTAC units.
Troubleshoot issues related to heating and cooling systems, appliances, and plumbing.
Perform routine building inspections to identify potential safety hazards and needed repairs.
Complete work orders as scheduled and communicates status of pending work orders with supervisor, residents and co-workers as necessary Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Assists residents with apartment moves which may include cable and computer hook-up, safety equipment hookup, furniture assembly, and other items as specified.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled, maintaining a professional appearance in compliance with policies.
May serve on a rotating schedule for after hours and weekend on call duty.
May serve as representative for department on the Safety committee or other ad hoc committees.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Associates degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent training from 2-year college or technical school; (carpentry, framing, construction finish work, and general mechanical skills.
) Minimum one-year experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire systems, HVAC, and carpentry - Preferred but not required Must be able to read and comprehend operating policies, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions.
Must have knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies Ability to organize and prioritize work orders and responsibilities Able to integrate non-scheduled work tasks into routine schedules.
Able to meet productivity and quality standards on a consistent and routine basis.
Recommended Skills Carpentry Construction Customer Service Hvac Maintenance Mechanical Systems Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
