Patient Placement Coordinator

The Patient Placement Coordinator has the primary responsibility of reviewing and assigning bed placements for patients requiring admission to units within an acute care ministry within Providence OregonThis includes admissions from emergency departments, direct admissions, future admissions, inter-unit transfers, and surgical placementsChart review and/or calls to clarify bed criteria will be performed to assure appropriate bed placementThe Patient Placement Coordinator collaborates with nursing, physicians, EVS, transportation, and others to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flowThe Patient Placement Coordinator works diligently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, provides superior communication, customer service and service recovery, utilizes good judgment and independent thinking that meets or exceeds the expectations of physicians, patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff membersThe Patient Placement Coordinator has responsibility for excellent communication, bed control assignments, and the coordination of transportation scheduling in an interdisciplinary, professional manner.Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluableJoin our team at Providence Oregon Regional Shared Services and thrive in our culture of patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respectYour voice matters here, because we know that to inspire and retain the best people, we must empower them.Required
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or equivalent education/experience. 1 year of Healthcare experience.Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field. Bed placement experience.
