Company ProfileChalice Farms is a premiere consumer-driven cannabis company specializing in production, processing, wholesale, distribution, and retail, with seven dispensaries in Portland, OregonThe Company is committed to developing a dynamic portfolio built around the recognized brands of Chalice Farms, Private Stash and Elysium Fields with a focus on health and wellness as well as employee culture.Position ProfileThe Operations Manager, Edibles is responsible for the oversight and management of the production and compliance for the Edibles Department, from development to packaging for the Oregon MarketOne of the key objectives for this role is the continuous focus on improving both the efficiency and productivity of the department, with a plan on how to exceed goals set for the team.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead production and operational team for maximum output and efficienciesWork with team to set, daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and goalsBuild and develop the strategy for efficient operations to ensure maximum capacity and no interruptions in productionDevelop and implement a production roadmap to improve production flow and productivity, with an eye on automation and efficiency improvementsManage our production staff by coordinating daily plans and setting employee rotations to meet and exceed goals and objectives set for the teamOverall responsibility for manufacturing safety, culture, quality and service, environmental compliance, and P&L responsibility for the divisionDirectly supervise kitchen and packaging agents responsible for operational activities; providing motivation, training, and development of production staff.Actively participate in the prevention and correction of quality-related errors.Develop production plans to maintain inventory par levels as determined by sales demandDemonstrate an adequate understanding of production machinery; equipment; processing; blending; extraction; shelf-stable products, quality, and/or other requisite technical knowledge.Responsible and accountable for quality compliance, production, and inventory control.Remain current with industry trends, safety & requirements.Train new and existing employees on best practices, inventory management, compliance, regulatory requirements, and safety.Proper product & work-in-process tracking, movement, and product securityReport and maintain key performance indicators for team that are in alignment with company goals and strategiesOrganize and inventory ingredients and other kitchen production supplies at the facility, in preparation for supply ordering.Formulate calculations to verify cannabis dosages for production and understand cannabis properties that may impact final product dosageDevelop SOPs to establish procedures to be followed by production teamMaintain laboratory notebooks, SOP documents, logs, and computer databasesEnsures that all products are properly labeled, stored, and compliant at all timesPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position supervises the edibles production teamQualifications3 years of work in consumer product development and general experience in commercial kitchens preferred2
