Director, Manufacturing Services

Overview:
The Director, Manufacturing Services is responsible for leadership and management of the activities, services, and organizations that directly support the Manufacturing and Technical segment of Sappi North America's (SNA) business throughout our largest mills in Maine, Minnesota and Canada.
This position directly supports the needs of the Vice President, Manufacturing and requires a seasoned professional in the paper industry with considerable experience in the operational and technical functions of the pulp and paper manufacturing industry with experience at multiple locations and an excellent network of contacts in the industry.

Responsibilities:
Benchmarking and Process Improvement:
Collaborate with each facility to identify areas of improvement through benchmarking.
Working with mill personnel, utilize benchmarking data to drive process enhancements and achieve operational excellence.
Continuous Improvement, LSS, and Problem Solving in Manufacturing:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing processes.
Use Lean Six Sigma methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and advanced data analytics to enhance operational efficiency and optimize performance.
SNA Platform Process Sponsorship and Leadership:
Facilitate knowledge sharing across SNA and global platforms to enhance operational synergies.
Provide leadership and support for global cluster initiatives and promote knowledge transfer within the organization.
Foster employee engagement and mentorship initiatives to create a positive work environment.
Capital Management Process for SNA:
Oversee the capital management process to ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and prioritize strategic projects.
North America Strategic Project Evaluation:
Collaborate with the capital management team to evaluate strategic projects aligned with SNA's objectives Assess project feasibility, financial viability, and potential risks to inform decision-making.
Risk Management and Internal Audit Support:
Assist in risk management activities and provide support for internal audits.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 8
years experience in the paper industry, with a focus on operational and technical functions within pulp and/or paper manufacturing Proven track record of leadership in the industry Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement practices Ability to effectively influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent project management and organizational abilities Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to travel to other Sappi North America sites #J-18808-Ljbffr Recommended Skills Auditing Business Efficiency Business Process Improvement Coaching And Mentoring Communication Coordinating Apply to this job.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
