Description
Support operation by providing management with accurate and timely financial reporting. Specific responsibilities will include; month end closing, preparing journal entries, variance analysis, inventory control and account reconciliations for Portland and Salem. Prepare and analyze daily oil usage reports, fat %, and weight sheets. Prepare and analyze weekly flash reports and review overhead spending variances and convey information to management. Prepare and analyze month-end reports and set up corrective measures for issues. Perform month-end close which includes inventory close and reconciliation, accruals, GL entries, sales reconciliation reports, and month-end note preparation within given timelines. Compile information and report significant variances. Assist operation's controller in the annual budget preparation. Prepare and update allocation methods used in budgeting process throughout the year as changes are made in the production process. Review actual performance to budgeted and make recommendations where needed. Maintain capital projects cost control logs and report to project managers. Prepare RFE closing files based on HQ guidelines and submit for closing. Maintain perpetual fixed asset inventory list. Serve as back-up to operation's Controller for key functional responsibilities, including adherence to company policies. This includes working with personnel in a supervisory role. Maintain standard manufacturing cost system (MSS) information for processing and packaging operations. This includes standard cost controls for finished product, bill of materials, labor, and overhead.
Position Requirements Education and
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting and four years of accounting experience or equivalent experience. Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Level:
Strong analytical skills.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and work through issues without continuous supervision. Must be an Advanced Excel user.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with all levels of site management and plant personnel.
