Purpose:
Manages the Mechanical Engineering department to assure meeting established business goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages the Mechanical Engineering department to assure meeting established business goals
Coordinates projects with Staff by keeping Director of CPD Engineering and Electrical Engineering Manager informed of project progress and risks
Improves product with Concrete Product Staff
Directs equipment research and development by collaborating with sales and marketing teams and managing new equipment design projects
Assists the Engineering Director in achieving equipment cost objectives established design projects
Complies and enforces safety standards to limit risk and advises management team on actions to reduce product liability
Communicates regularly with CP Mechanical Engineering department by assistant with regular (min. monthly) team meetings
Manages staff respectfully by maintain open and honest communication with direct reports
Develops human resources by training and mentoring employees
Leads the continuous improvement effort through document processes and procedures and eliminating non-value added activities
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and attending professional workshops and reviewing publications
Contribute to team effort by attempting new assignments or filling for others as needed
Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Proficient in Movex, Vault, SalesForce.com, Inventor Auto CAD, and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge of mechanical equipment designs
Excellent organizational, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong technical aptitude; has the ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables with a high attention to detail
Advanced management and leadership skills; has the ability to inspire and motivate staff
Experience with analyzing job results and planning workflow
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
Seven years of professional engineering and management experience
Business casual environment
Monday - Friday - 8am - 5pm
Compensation: $ 72k - $95k
Direct Hire
