This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
This is a full-time (1.0) FTE position. Salary will be $11.84 to $15.63/hour. This position is located on the Marquam Hill campus.
Functions/Duties of Position
Performs and is responsible for all janitorial functions including receiving and distributing incoming stock within Food & Nutrition Department at various locations as needed.
Janitorial functions include some or all of the following daily;
Dishwashing, responsible for cleaning all pots, pans, dishes and trays in a timely manner and maintains dish area and surrounding areas (i.e. floor, shelves and trash cans and areas). Maintains dry storage stock rooms, walk-in cooler and freezer and all reach-in coolers in a clean, orderly and sanitary fashion. Maintains and floors, keeping them clean and clutter free at all times. Cleans kitchen and food storage floors daily and as needed. Trash and Recycling, gathers all trash and recycling from various areas as needed using department approved methods and transports to designated trash/recycling areas as needed. Receives, inspects and places all supplies into service as needed using the First In First Out method while rotating ALL stock. Transports supplies to and from various Caf s at OUSU as directed by lead worker, supervisor or manager. Assists with food preparation and portioning while maintaining approved portion control at all times as directed.
May respond to audio devices and verbal commands from peers and supervisors to assist various stations during hours of service through retrieving needed items, stocking, bussing tables, etc. as needed in assisting team members and customers alike.
Must be helpful and courteous to customers and team members at all times. Assist any team member as needed.
Operates and cleans various types of equipment; dishwasher, slicer, mixer, stoves, ovens, food processor, etc. Cleans windows as needed. And light maintenance repairs such as replace cart tires, putting carts together and similar tasks. Uses small hand tools such as drill/driver.
Over all assists with maintaining the high standard of quality and appearance of OHSU Food & Nutrition Department and it's outlets at all times.
As well as any additional duties assigned by a manager or supervisor as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
6 Months Food Service Experience
Good understanding of the English language (written and spoken) Math, Customer service, Cleanliness and Food handling skills.
Food handlers Card or Servsafe certificate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Continuous standing, moving, bending, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling, twisting, moving.
