Work Unit Description
Graduate Medical Education (GME) is one of the central missions of Oregon Health & Science University. Graduate Medical Education training programs are offered in virtually all fields of medicine, as well as dental residencies, including Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery.OHSU and the Portland VAMC are the major clinical teaching facilities of OHSU for undergraduate and graduate medical education. The patient care and teaching programs at the university and the Portland VAMC are under the direction and supervision of OHSU faculty. House staff participate in the care of patients in the hospitals and gain additional experience in community hospitals, which have affiliated teaching programs under the direction of the OHSU School of Medicine.The Office of Graduate Medical Education coordinates house staff appointments and assignments. The office also assists in assuring excellence in the training programs and in serving prospective, current and past residents and fellows.

Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range
This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; 1.0 FTE; Salary Range: $34.76-47.27/hour; Location: Marquam Hill.
Functions/Duties of Position
Key
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage information processes and systems for the School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Office (GME) and its training programs.
Participate and have oversight in the development of information technology plans for GME, including educational delivery systems and data management systems.
Serve as an expert in mining data and creating reports from EPIC to facilitate educational and patient care tracking systems for GME trainees.
Job Requirements
Required:
Master's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR Associate's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate's degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Experience in collaborative projects, including development of best-practice procedures.
Experience in software development, specifically database development.
Familiarity with information security management and computational quality assurance best practices.
Ability to understand data structures and database technologies, and have a willingness to participate in efforts to re-engineer current processes to better support and improve data management processes.
Excellent technical problem solving skills.
Strong web development experience.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest levels.
Proven ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work well under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize, analyze and display data and information.
Ability to perform complex technical tasks with a minimum direct supervision.
Preference:
Experience in generating reports using COGNOS Query Studio and Report Studio.
Familiarity with Epic clinical data management and report generation.
SQL and Cold Fusion experience is highly desired.
Epic Clarity Certification (Inpatient, Ambulatory or equivalent)
