Position
Summary:
This position is responsible for providing leadership in furthering and maintaining best practice vendor management capability and managing the technology vendor eco-system. Partners and collaborates with multi-functional global team in negotiations and represents the Company with its strategic partners, and will rely increasingly on outsourcing non-strategic elements of IT. Develops and executes operational plans that enable CIO and global Tech team to optimize the relationships and performance of 3rd party supplies/vendors. Acts as a strategic partner to: Nike Inc., Procurement, Functional Leaders, as well as all areas of Global IT and Legal to optimize IT sourcing decisions and outcomes. Leads the Technology Vendor Management team.
Key Roles and
Responsibilities:
- Sets the IT vendor vision and ensures strategic objectives are aligned with overall strategic goals. Establishes and maintains best practices and processes for managing suppliers/vendors, including outsourced relationships. Leverages best practices to improve the value of third party delivery of IT solutions and services. Based on best practices, identifies areas where service delivery can be enhanced or achieved at a reduced cost and/or higher quality.
- Partners and collaborates with multi-functional global teams (Technology Leadership, Procurement, Legal) in negotiations for all strategic partnerships.
- Represents the Company when negotiating with vendor partners. Monitors ongoing relationships and determines timing for renegotiation. Ability to deal with, complex and ambiguous situations, working with multiple parties.
- Formulates strategies and analysis necessary to evaluate and recommend the most operationally effective sourcing solution. Partners with internal teams to conduct analysis, vendor selection, pricing and other commercial negotiations.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively. Communicates effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly changing area.
- Develops and manages strong and reliable vendor and stakeholder relationships.
- Proven ability to influence, partner and work collaboratively with customers at all levels, to understand, actively shape and support business needs with strong results orientation.
- Develops and manages processes to measure vendor performance against contractual obligations. Assesses program issues, problems and opportunities from inception to completion and takes ownership of results.
- Manages operational compliance with terms and conditions to include creation and management of SLAs, KPIs and requests for audit. Ensures that vendors are delivering on commitments and meeting business needs.
- Anticipates potential issues with suppliers / vendors and develops actions plans to avoids those issues.

Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree a plus
- Background in IT, vendor, contract and project management, and sourcing
- Demonstrated leadership, relationship skills, strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Experience managing a matrixed team of employees, contractors and vendors
- Strong negotiation skills, with the proven ability to manage disputes and disagreements
