1.0; $66,759-100,138/yr; Location: Portland, Downtown. This is a limited duration position, with capital funding identified for up to 2 years.
Functions/Duties of Position
As a member of the Business Intelligence Management Division, this position is the BI reporting analyst responsible for development, implementation and support of Epic Community Connect reporting, starting with a project effort to integrate Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) data into the existing OHSU Epic Clarity database and the associated Healthcare Data Warehouse. This effort will involve making MCMC data available for reporting while maintaining the functionality of the OHSU existing reporting and analytics capabilities. This will be achieved by applying appropriate filters and security to the data, existing ETL processes and Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Reporting Workbench and Cognos. The ideal incumbent should be certified in Epic Clarity along with current experience developing financial and clinical reporting solutions in a healthcare environment leveraging these tools. Knowledge of SQL is also necessary.
This position provides consulting and technical expertise to assist business users with leveraging the solutions developed by the incumbent, Epic (userweb) and fellow team members. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, project coordination, maintaining data and report documentation, contributing to security architecture design, data testing and validation, report development/testing, report scheduling, Universe consultation/creation, and implementation support.
This work ensures that the information assets of the OHSU enterprise are leveraged to enhance financial, clinical, and operational decisions. This position is responsible for implementing information technology solutions that allow users to appropriately generate timely, accurate and comprehensive information for managing our business. Solution development will follow the OHSU software development methodology and adhere to data governance, data security, and report standards. This position will include availability for rotation through an after-hours on-call support model as needed for upgrades, project go lives or to provide ongoing support of new systems that may have 24x7 support agreements. This will require a broad knowledge of OHSU BI systems and workflows.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and eight years work related experience in the healthcare information technology field; OR Associate's degree in computer science or related field and nine years work related experience in the healthcare information technology field; OR Ten years work related experience in the healthcare information technology field.
Minimum two years paid work experience as an Application Developer, Analyst (or equivalent classification) using reporting tools leveraged for data capture from Epic EMR (e.g. Business Objects, Crystal Reporting, Cognos).
Experience with facilitating and documenting system requirements sessions.
Experience creating technical documentation of reports and data/report models.
Experience with utilizing star schema data stores as the basis for report development.
Experience with facilitating and participating in QA efforts on BI projects.
Minimum three years working with relational databases.
Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures.
Ability to read and explain a data model.
Ability to read, write and maintain SQL Code.
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Experience planning and managing small projects.
