General Purpose

Establish and implement customer, corporate communications and company branding strategies, and plans to support business objectives. Develop, direct and manage the implementation of a strategic customer and corporate communications activities and brand support. Serve Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power internal customers. Integrate as necessary with BHE businesses and BHE communication, and holding company initiatives. Manage and allocate financial and employee resources. Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees; and management of employee salaries. Implement and support company programs and policies. Responsible for adherence to department budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer/marketing communication planning strategy, creative direction, and content scheduling consistent with business needs and supporting the company s business plan.
  • Direct customer and employee research necessary to determine gaps in communications and the effectiveness of issue-specific and overall communications.
  • Direct advertising media planning and placement. Negotiate contracts, ensuring they benefit the company and its customers.
  • Manage broadcast (TV and radio), print production development, Web design and expanding electronic communications including Web design, content and functional integration into customer service programs and social media expansion as a primary channel.
  • Monitor all customer/marketing and employee communications touch points including advertising, newsletters, direct mail, support materials, inserts, Web sites, production, social media, events, signage, etc.
  • Direct communications activities relating to customer programs, public safety, contractor safety, employee/company safety, disaster preparedness and recovery, renewable energy opt-in programs and company resource development, regulation, metering and operations.
  • Direct internal/employee communication; develop overall PacifiCorp plan and business-specific plans; provide strategic and tactical counsel regarding emergent, opportunistic or incident related communications; manage and direct Internal communication employees; develop and execute employee engagement programs that benefit the business, employees and customers; oversee and manage the company Intranet/portal in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Protect and direct the PacifiCorp brand family - Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power through logo management, approval of external communications and logo use. Develop and maintain company graphic standards.
  • Manage annual customer and employee communications budget.
  • Report and document expenses for regulatory recovery.
  • Review and evaluate effectiveness of communications efforts and incorporate findings to improve subsequent activities.
  • Provide marketing communications counsel and support to business units within the company.
  • Select, coach, and develop employees. Review and evaluate employee performance and prepare annual reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of ten years directly-related experience in advertising, marketing, or communications.
  • A minimum of five years people management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Ability to manage and motivate employees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including ability to consult with internal and external clients. Ability to negotiate and influence decisions.
  • Proven general and project management skills including ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources and manage the development or implementation of a system, program or process.
  • Proven ability to direct multiple and consecutive big picture plans, while managing small details and coordinating a comprehensive outcome.
  • Experience with advertising planning, media buying, broadcast and print production and creative development.
  • Experience in planning, producing and implementing creative communications programs which are effective, efficient and deliver.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
